How a basement visit works
Raritan Valley Waterproofing handles water problems from inside the house. This page explains what that covers, what it does not, and what happens between the form and the work.
What the service covers
- Interior drain tile
- Sump pumps
- Foundation crack repair
- Crawl space encapsulation
- Egress windows
- Basement leak repair
All of it happens in the basement or crawl space, plus the small amount of outside work an egress window or a sump discharge line needs.
What it does not cover
No exterior excavation, no yard drainage and no structural repair. A wall that bows, leans or has a crack that keeps widening needs a structural engineer to look at it first. If the visit turns up something like that, you will hear it plainly and the interior work waits.
From the form to the visit
- You send the form with your town and a description of the water. Photos help if you have them.
- We reply by email to set a time.
- At the house we check the walls, the joint where wall meets floor, any existing sump, window wells, plumbing near the wet area, and the gutters and grading outside.
- We explain what we think is happening and what we would do about it, including when the fix is something small you can handle yourself.
What you get in writing
A written scope that names each piece of work, how many feet of wall it covers, where a pump will discharge, what finished surfaces have to come out and go back, and anything that is excluded. Read what changes the price to see why each of those lines matters.
